Front Right speaker keeps cutting in and out?

I have two 10 inch JL audio subs in the back being being power by a directed amp along with an Memphis amp for the four speaker in the car, the speaker im having problems with is the front right car speaker that is also made by Memphis. I know that the speak isn't blown because there are times that the speaker plays flawlessly, it usually plays when the speakers are up real loud (added details). Also when i'm driving it seems that when i make turns it induces the speaker to cut on or off, kind of strange. That is why i have been having so many problems diagnosing the issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.

subwoofer huming ?

any one can help me? why is my subwoofer humming when i turn my ignition on,and the odd thing is it sounds like the woofer is wired to exaust and is making bass when i touch the trottle,also the humming stops when i take out the cd,it starts huming when i turn the egnition on or put in a cd

capacitor and battery ?

If I turn my car off and i have a capacitor, will the subs play only on the capacitor's reserved energy until it empty's itself ?? I do know that the radio will play on the car battery, that is no big deal but i do not want to drain the car battery with the subs ! i have 1600 watt subs, only powered by 350 watt amplifier, 3 farad capacitor Thank you !

Scion XD, 40w x 4, unhook rear speakers, for 100w (min) box?

I'm thinking of doing something really stupid, 2009 Scion XD, factory system, 40 watts x 4, but 6 speakers? I wanna unhook the rear speakers, and tie in, a 100 watt (minimum) sub box, mind you NO AMP, but, I looked behind the radio, and there is an open plug attachment, there is an available amp/sub upgrade, but can I just do the other instead???

the sub needs 600W rms and the peak handling is 1200W, The amp would give it 750rms @ 2 ohms, would the sub handle that because i dont want to over power it and blow it. i hear the diamond D6 likes a little more power than the 600rms rating so i feel it would be fine. anyone help me out here? my last system got stolen so i want another real bad.

How to Make My System Better ?

I Have a Kenwood 50X4 deck and 4 pionerr speakers. The back 2 are 440 watt max 4 ohm and the front 2 are 220. I then have a 600 watt amp, the brand is DUAL.. and it is bridged, powering 2 12" kicker comp 12's.. How can I make this better. i have no idea how to hook up 2 amps either. Can i get a larger amp for my subs or will that just blow them?

HI there i just recently purchased 2 re audio sxx subwoofers, and a power acoustik stax 5500. i just found out that my amp wasent powering both effectively but would power 1 fenominaly. i have both my subs in a ported dual 10 inch subwoofer box with the port between the 2 subs. when the sub i have hooked up is pounding away,the air force is moving my other sub from inside the box. my question is in doing this will i damage my sub that is not hooked up? keep in mind there only 4 days old right now.

I have a Sony CDX-GT550UI head unit with a Audiobahn A2300HCT 2400W 2 Channel Amplifier and a JL Audio 12 W7 sub in a box. When I have this on Tuner or Radio as source, I get treble and the subwoofer works, when I switch to CD mode... only the bass works. Would this be a setting I would need to change in my head unit? I am just wondering what settings I would need to change and WHY it would do this in the first place? Seems to be working fine.

hi, i have recently purchased a clarion cz500a deck and installed it myself in my car i have sony xplod rear speakers amp and also xplod subwoofer all the wiring appears to be in good nick and in the right place. i receive full sound including subwoofer on 'cd' and 'tunner' but the aux and bluetooth when connecting my ipod for example results in poor sound with no subwoofer. this is very confusing to me beacuse i recieve good sound on radio and cd so i know all the connections are in the right place......???

Rear deck rattling/Speaker Question ?

I am thinking of getting two more Memphis audio speakers (6 1/2") for my 2002 Nissan Sentra GXE. I would be replacing the 2 factory speakers that are attached/under the rear deck of my car behind the back seats. I have a subwoofer in my trunk and it rattles the rear deck a good amount. Would the rattling damage/distort the speakers?

i unplugged my sub and my battery was charging fine. but when it was plugged in it was running it flat. i got a new car battery and the same it happening. my car stereo plays with out the keys in the ignition and only turns off when i take the head unit off, the sub also turns off when the head unit is taken off. but i dont understand why it is still running it low? the remote cable is connected and got a earth but???? :/ please help!

Ok, first of all i dont have alot of experience with setting up car audio and purchasing the right things but i would like to do this system right unlike the ones i have had in the past so i would like some advice from someone who is knowledgeable. I have about 650.00 to spend for subs & amp and i have no clue what to purchase. I am looking for good sound quality more so than insane bass but i want some good bass also. speaker is still fuzzy after replacing ?

When im driving in my car i could hear the tweeter making cracking and fuzzy noises. I took out the tweeter assuming it was blown and the noise was still there in the main speaker on the door. at this point i just assumed that the speaker was blown too so i got new speakers. then after getting new speakers the fuzzy noise was still there after i turn the radio to mute even. it doesnt change no matter how loud the music is and it only happens when im actually driving the car which makes me think it has something to do with the car rattling and the bumps in the road. when i stop for any reason, the noise stops. please help! -thanks!!

I just got Piezo electric super high frequency tweeters. They are 350watts, 5KHz-20KHz. Independence: 4 ohms (can also be used with 8 & 16 ohms systems) Sensitivity: 97db. I have a xXx 1200 W 2 channel amp with 1200 watt subs already installed into my car. I'm kinda clueless with this, So is it possible to put these tweeters in my car?

I installed (month or two ago) a pair of tweeters in my truck...and just recently the passenger side tweeter has been crackling but not constantly, only on some songs its quite bizarre, so i checked all the connections and they seem fine...i've installed my deck, amp and subs so i do have experience...could it simply be a malfunction with the one tweeter or a bad connection somewhere? help would be appreciated thanks btw the driver side tweeter is working perfectly it also sounds worse while driving on bumpy roads which leads me to believe its a connection problem...but like i say they all seemed fine to answer your question...yes they do have crossovers i installed them on the door panel

Thanks for reviewing my inquiry! I work with Car Audio on the side and my brother plays guitar. I was going to build him a Speaker Cabinet for his new Guitar Amp he bought and was going to use a 15" Car Audio sub woofer, 2 - 12" Mid-range speakers and 2 tweeters with a 3-Way crossover to sort out the frequencies. Lows to the 15", Mids to the 12's, and highs to the tweeters. Using a 3-Way Passive Crossover, could this work effectively? Or would the sound not be great?

Hey I just want some reviews of how anybody likes my system. Not trying to boost my self-esteem just trying to see if I can hold my own with this in my car. Piece of crap car, but a great system in my opinion. Let me know what you think. Head unit - Eonon 7" LCD screen DVD player Speakers - MOMO series Polk audio 2 6X9's in back and two 5.25" in front with built in tweeters. Backs are 100w RMS each, fronts are 45w RMS each. Subwoofers - 2 MTX 12" 7500's, 400w RMS Box - dual ported bass slammers box HUGE box Amps - pioneer 2 channel 760w amplifier for speakers. Crunch monoblock 1250w amplifier, 625w RMS to each subwoofer. (Trust me the MTX company subwoofers can handle that with ease) capacitor - 2 FARAD stinger high power capacitor The whole thing cost me around $1500 plus installation and to me it sounds incredible, but rattles so I'm going to get dynamat all over my trunk. Comments/advice for car subwoofer?

I just blew my Rockford Fosgate P2 Punch in my car and I am royally ticked! And the reason was because I had my amp WAY too high lol. but it sounded awesome for the whole 30 seconds it lasted LOL! But it was a 15 inch sub that I got at a steal of a price! Now I'm looking to replace it and I want another 15, but I'm not sure about this manufacturer? I was looking at a (I think its an Audiopipe? SP315?) SPL 15" 1200 RMS w 2800 peak w monster sub. I'm thinking that if I go higher in wattage than what my amp is putting out I won't blow it again lol. But I can't find any reviews on this sub and its driving me bonkers!!!!!!! I know I know everyone wants me to go with a Kicker or Alpine or Massive or MB Quart or Memphis or JL Audio or some other high dollar thing, but right now I need to look more at quality for a price under $225 since I have been laid off recently, just FYI. For this question right now I just want to know if anyone has had any experience with Audiopipe or this sub itself and how yall think it would do with a Kenwood 1000 watt mono amp. Ok first off, I know all about the ohm loads and everything that wasn't my problem, my problem was just me being too loud and proud with it and being one of those dorks blaring their crap wayyy too loud. Secondly, my car does not rattle when my bass pounds, I've gone through the whole car with insulation and dynamat and fixed everything that rattles. Third, nobody has even yet mentioned anything about the Audiopipe SPL sub I mentioned in the beginning?! Because the deal for it is about $130?! So IDK if its a good deal or if it is a P.O.S.?!?! I'm just trying to make a semi-informed decision here guyz. Either spend $130 on a sub that pounds like crazy and sacrifice name brand, or spend the extra 30 for another R.F. 15" P3 that operates at the same as my last one that just blew, and take the chance of blowing it!?!? I just want to know about Audiopipe since I haven't really heard anything about it before?!

Is 600 watts rms too low for a 15" subwoofer?

I'm on a budget and really interested in the new Cerwin Vega V-max 15.2's. They've gotten nothing but great reviews. However I was talking to a car audio installer and he said 600 rms is WAY too low for a 15". Can anybody give me some input on this? Subwoofer Comparison for Sound Quality rather than SPL?

I'm reviewing five similarly-priced, economic 12" subwoofers where *sound quality* is my first concern (I will not be pushing the subs and not at all concerned with SPL). I will be crossing them at 80hz (they will be covering 20hz-80hz). Although these are automotive subs, I'm utilizing them in custom enclosures for a home-theater application. Does anyone have any feedback about how the following (or any other similarly priced subwoofers) compare to each other considering the unique needs of this project (straight sound quality over SPL, where car subs more often focus)? Short List: Pioneer TS-W306 MB Quart RWE-304 Diamond Audio D112D4 JBL GTO1204D Audiobahn AW1200V Thank you in advance for any suggestions! To be clear … I am *not* requesting people’s *opinion* on which sounds better .... Instead I’m asking people who are aware of the technical differences, which of them is more technically proficient at reproducing sound consistently (flat) between 20-80hz at all volumes and response rates. For example, the Pioneer is probably the most high-tech componentry that I am aware (new type of composite cone, aluminum VC, etc) – yet I can’t get any specs, not so much as the VC size. My question is how this stacks up against the others when it comes to performance – do they actually perform as good or better (I can’t find SPL / response charts for subwoofers anywhere, unlike conventional speakers). If you have an objective comment on why one subwoofer excels over another in this mid-to-economic price category, or technical details, or other factors related to my application, please post here. The MTX subs come with a ported box, I was thinking if I get the Kenwood pack that I get a sealed box because that would give me defined bass. How do I set up a dvd player and sound system to my older tv?

I've looked at a few like the Polk DB351 3.5" Coaxial Car Speakers and the Infinity Reference 3022cf 3.5-Inch Two-Way Loudspeakers, from what I've researched, Polk speakers aren't all that great. I have a Jeep Wrangler and I want it to sound better. I have a new headunit, 2channel being used by mono amp and a 12" kicker. I have (2) 4" speakers in the dash, and (2) 6.5" woofers, (2) 5.25" woofers, (2) 2" mid range and (2) 1" tweeters all in the roll cage. If I have all 10 speakers connected, it sounds horrible, and I want to add an amp and a LC6i. Can anyone recommend anything for the amp?

I just bought a 2006 Mazda Tribute.. It has stock speakers in it- I was wanting to put two subs (probably 10") and an amp in there, from a local car audio expert place... Will having stock speakers make the sub and amp not worth it? Can someone explain to me how the sub (and amp) works exactly? Does it only magnify the sound where the box and amp are located, or can it be heard equally throughout the car?

Car Audio JL Audio W6?

I'm going to be as detailed as possible... I have a JL Audio W6-D4. Inside a box, it has 2 voice coils and they are setup with +1 to +2 and -1 to -2 then +1 to + on amplifier and -2 on - on amplifier. I'm running a Sony 1000 watt max amp. My power is ran and my rca is hooked up to my back speakers so i can keep my stock system but have a sub. My Ground is hooked up to a part in my trunk that i shaved down the "plastic coating" around. Over by my taillight where that bolt goes is where i grounded it to. Now here's the issue, My 1999 lexus is the car... Officially here's the problem when i turn the car on to test the sub it just keeps going boom boom boom boom boom boom you get the picture. It goes at a rapid rate with no break inbetween. It doesn't hit any portion of bass from the songs that i have on there. Do i need a new ground? Also the RCA's are emitting a noise i'm pretty sure a ground box for those which i have will help. The RCA's are all bunched up in the back of my car it's a 12 foot wire and i only need about 10 inches. So the rest is just there. Anyways anyone with help? I need to know it's gonna drive me crazy i just got this sub and i want it to work. HELP!!

I know about RMS, and good brands.. I want to know what is the recommended RMS for me? I don't need to be heard from a mile away. I just want something thats a little above average. I listen to a lot of hip hop music. (Jay-Z!) Does the receiver need to be a certain amount of watts to be compatible with the amp/speakers/subs? And mainly, how many subs should I get that will sound good? (but like I said, not crazy ridiculously loud!) Please understand I want it to kick, just not to the point where its too much and sounds trashy. So please, give me your opinion of what kind of stereo, amp, speakers & subs to get. Including quantity of each (2amps, or 2subs or w/e) I've done a lot of research I would really appreciate your help :D

Can't play video on my iPod classic when connected to my dock in my car.?

Here's the setup I have: a built-in USB jack my car, an Apple dock connector going into that, and an iPod classic. When attached to the dock, the iPod links up to the stereo (which plays music fine), but will not play video and pump the video's audio channel through the car speakers. Any workaround for this? Fly. You did not pay attention to the question. Video is already good to go on the iPod—I do not need a video converter. The problem is it working in the car attached to the dock. I get the big orange circle with the song name and artist (iPod buttons are disabled once connected).

1 ohm amp, does it matter what ohm sub i run?

2005 Nissan Altima SL or a 07 Scion tC? What should i buy?

I'm looking to buy my first car, and I'm looking at around an under 14k budget. I was wondering if anyone has an opinion on whether i should get a 2005 nissan altima with the luxury "SL" package (as low as possible miles) or a scion tC, which i found barely used '06, '07, and even '08 tC's for less than the nissan. The scion is a less expensive, a little sportier, would be newer with less miles, and easier to find, but lacks the luxury of the altima (leather, fancier interior, ect...). The altima is also a 4dr with a big back seat, but reviews say the scion's back seat is large enough and not hard to get in/out of. The audio difference is Bose in the altima and pioneer in the tC, and the tC comes with available subwoofer (standard for 08). Here is what i know i will do to the car no matter which i get: it has to be black, i will be lightly tinting the windows, will be adding black rims with a chrome lip, and adding an indash touchscreen CD/MP3/DVD/TV multimedia player (probably a jensen VM9022). The jensen fits in both cars, and I will have a local shop put it in for me to replace the stock head unit/deck. I have also looked at cars like the 06 Ford Fusion and 05 subaru legacy, among many other, but i think i like the altima and tC the best. not only do they look very nice, nissan and toyota (scion) are very reliable and dependable companies. They also both resale well. However, i am open for an suggestions if there are cars you think i should look at. Thank you.

Car audio stereo subwoofer system wont play? tried everything! please help.?

Hello, for about a month ive had 2 12" Kicker CVRs powered by a MA Audio m700xe 1000 watt amp, and 4 gauge wiring, in a pyramid bandpass box, i recently sold my amp and got a new box, i bought an ultra linear amp and got a ported box, we tried hooking it up and had major problems at first we thought it was the amp so we went back and bought a brand new MA Audio m700xe the original one that i had powering it, still the same thing so i thought it was the box went back and it still does the same thing, everytime i hook up both speakers it sounds muffled and strained and sounds like its only putting out 10% of the power it was doing before and when i turn up the volume, the sub flaps distortedly like its being maxed out, but i know it would never max out at where its maxing out at. we checked everything all the wires are good i have a good ground, remote wire EVERYTHING me and my brother in law took a multimeter/voltmeter to it and tested EVERYTHING i dont get why it worked before and not now? someone please help!

How important are car subwoofer box size recommendations?

I've got a 12" JL Audio subwoofer. I want a ported box, and it says to buy a 1.75 cubic foot ported box. However, best I can find that is within my price range ($60 shipped) is 1.60 cubic foot. Is this okay? ***NOTE: My amp is only 250W and my sub is 300W RMS and 600W MAX so my sub will never actually reach peak power.**** BURNING BEARD: I'm not sure how to do that, and if you can I would REALLY appreciate it. Note: I am trying to get amazing stereo soundstage and imaging in my car. I currently have a pretty good subwoofer system but it is somewhat "bassy" for my car right now and distorts out some of the higher notes from my cheap speakers in the front and rear departments. I am looking at buying and installing the following: -A pair of 6.5" Lanzar OPTI6.1 component speakers for the front -A pair of 6.5" Lanzar OPTI64 midbass speakers for the rear -2 13" JL Audio 13W3v3-4 subwoofers in the trunk -1 Alpine PDX-1.1000 amplifier powering the 2 subs -2 Alpine PDX-2.150 amplifiers power the speakers (1 amp for the front, 1 for the rear) I will have the subwoofer amplifier pushing 1000 watts rms @ 2 ohms. I will decrease the wattage going to each speaker down to 125 watts rms. And I will also be tuning the system to the following: -Tweeters: 3000hz-higher -Front woofers: 250hz-3000hz -Rear woofers: 100hz-250hz -Subwoofers: 100hz-lower Will this system have good stereo imaging and soundstage? What can I expect from this system? I've yet to give Lanzar a try. The main reason I'm wanting to go with them is because they can handle a lot and are pretty inexpensive.

Alright, right now I have two Memphis power reference 10" subwoofers, powered by a Memphis power reference 500 watt amplifier. I just bought two Lightning Audio P4.12.4 12" subwoofers for $100 from a friend. Well, I used to work at a car audio shop, and I told the owner about them. He said that Lightning Audio is not a good brand. I was thinking about getting two Memphis m class 12" subwoofers instead of these Lightning Audio 12" subwoofers. But my question is this: are these Lightning Audio subwoofers really not that good? They have a peak power handling of 750 watts and an rms of 150 watts, while the Memphis m class 12" subwoofers have a peak power handling of 600 watts and an rms of 300 watts.

How come my 12 inch subwoofer wont work?

so we routed all the wires we need from the battery to the amp to the sub, etc. spliced the audio from the amp to radio into the rear speakers in my car and we spliced the power to the amp from the radio with the correct wire there that is hot while acc is on, and we had hooked up the subwoofer to L+ and R- for the mono sub and after we tested it out, we got a repetive constant beat (motorboat effect [which can be caused by a wire to the sub from the amp being grounded somewhere else maybe, but we checked and nothing is being grounded accidentally..]) that went even when the radio was off (with accessories on). but when we had put them both on L+ & - or R+ & -, it would work fine, but with the bass on the amp all the way up and the bass on the radio all the way up, it just moved without making any vibration, but it was following the beat for sure. Is there something we missed?

I recently got another subwoofer for my car because my previous one messed up. I asked the installers to tune my amplifier properly because I think the previous installers tuned it incorrectly. After riding around a bit, I noticed it didn't have as much "bump" to it as before. I also noticed they didn't tune it to the proper Hz (they had it at 80 when it needs to be at 50). When I was looking at it I noticed if I turned the gain up a bit it was a much deeper thud than before, but I'm not sure if could potentially damage the sub in the long run. Will turning the gain up on my amplifier hurt my sub in the long run? I've got a 10" JL Audio W3v3 4-Ohm powered by a 325.5 Watt RockfordFosgate amplifier in the trunk of an '01 Honda Accord Coupe.

does anyone know what type of cable that runs from a stereo system to a computer? The wires are the audio wires that are stripped on one end that go into the back of a stereo. they're red and black and the other end should be able to hook up into my computer in the audio jack. I am looking to hook up this subwoofer i bought for real cheap to my computer for fun. it was meant to work in a car but i found an adaptor that lets you plug it into a normal outlet and power it and the only thing i need now is the cable that runs from the back of the speaker/subwoofer into the computer.

What color wire would hook from an aftermarket stero sub( Sony) Audio out. It's not a blue wire all of those r connected already.There is orange/white an white or blue and silver. Witch wire would it be? My sub won't turn on it's not get any jucie from cd player to the amp. I have tried looking up diagrams, but none of them seem to the same wires ( color) meaning for sony and vw beetle...... Please if you know the wires ( colors) please tell me what they're. i have a 1800 watt kenwood class d mono block amp, a jvc stereo system and a 1000 watt dual bandpass subwoofer. took it to the audio shop to get it hooked up. i was amazed at the sound but later found out that it was just the stock speakers i had in the car that was putting out the bass and not my subwoofer. the subs do not move or anything and on my amp is a red light that blinks every once in awhile. all of the wires are hooked up, I don't know what else would be causing the subs to not work. the audio shop said that the bandpass was to small and is designed more for a hatch back or a jeep, not my dodge intrepid and that I wouldn't get the sound that im looking for. but still no sound comes from the subs. any help would be much appreciated

Okay, as far as I know dynamat (the stuff you line your trunk with to prevent rattle) is the best out there, I don't know of any DIY options to this. But here is my question. I have 3 6x9's in my trunk of my car (like they are on the back shelf, I think thats what you call the area above the backseat, BUT they are not exposed, like they are not up above the carpet on the shelf, u cant see them, they are still in the trunk.) If I line my whole trunk with a layer or two of dynamat (i thought about it because loud volumes and bass my trunk will rattle) and I plan to put subs in there later so why not get it done now. But will the sound quality be better? Would it be better if I cut out the deck and let the speakers push up and be seen (so they are technically inside the car and not the trunk) If you cant answer all those questions, like I said the main one is sound quality, will it improve noticeably?

Here's some info about the car: 203k miles 5 spd AWD 2.2l Engine Just passed DEQ 2 weeks ago branded title BRAND NEW FRONT DISK BRAKES AND PADS - STOPS QUICK! Rims from a 04 wrx. Painted black with white centercaps (LOOK SICK! CAR IS MURDERED OUT!) decent tires Tinted windows Magnaflow exhaust Lowered 1.5" in the front and 1" in the back on H and R springs Smoked Tail lights Interior is CLEAN Awesome pioneer stereo deck Ipod Hook up Great speakers, no sub but still bumps Dings dents and scratches, nothing too major just might need a new hood which is like 80 bucks or so. RUNS AND DRIVES LIKE A CHAMP!!! only bad thing is that the tranny is making a loud whirring noise. I talked to a guy at superior import repair, he said this is common with subaru transmissions and that i have anyhwere from 5-15k miles to go before the tranny dies.

I am trying to keep my car as factory as can be but I want to have a nice stereo. I really dont want to have to replace my deck. I plan on getting some kicker 4" for the fronts and some kicker 5 1/4" for the rears, little weak i know, but I cannot mod the car in any way. I also want to install a 10" subwoofer, I know I can hook up speaker line input to my amp but then my sub will have a dirty sound. Also, does any one know the power output from the head unit in the car? I might have to run 2 amps, or a 5 channel or a 4 channel in 3 channel mode.... Any other suggestions feel free!

Hi, I have a Vauxhall Astra 1.6 sxi sport coupe 3 door, i have recently had my stereo removed by a company to see if it had an adapter on the back so it can plug in a sub and amp. when fitting my stereo back in, the right hand front and back speakers didn't work. The bloke that fitted the same radio back in once he checked it, was only 19 and the manger said he didn't have the experience, yet the manager couldn't work out why either. Surly it isn't that hard to fix some speakers? Does anyone know why? Surly two speakers wouldn't blow at the same time? Or does the stereo need resetting? Fix my truck or just gut it?

95 s10, 2.2, 5 spd, 4x2. 177k with rebuild motor but we warped the head when we ran it dry on oil. there is a small leak by the oil pan, there is a bunch of spacers instead of oem rubber washer that it call for. Also the transmission lets out late so I think the release bearing is beginning to go out, the tranny shifts just fine and the clutch is strong. Replaced, fuel and air filter, pcv valve, temperature gauge valve, wires, plugs, coils, valve gasket, radiator and radiator cap, new carpet and new bucket seats inside, stereo was completely replaced with a sub and amp behind the seats(short cab). bedliner was sprayed in, new tires and brakes. I spent a lot of money into this truck and I would like your opinion on where I should get the head fixed and keep driving the truck or just sell it for cheap and finance a new or low mileage used car. I have never swapped out a cylinder head before but being that the truck is a four cylinder with no ac and me having all the tools and heated work space I need, I feel like I can replace the head and head gasket on my own. I priced a remanufactured cylinder head at $150, head gasket set at around $100 and I can fix my release bearing issue with $150 clutch kit. I would also have to master a way to fix the oil drain plug leak. Please note that these price are with the discount I get from knowing the "right people". Should I just go ahead and take a day off from work and get it all done or should I not even bother and finance a car. I was pre approved at a dealership for a new ford with 1k down and $300 a month payments. Which one is a better option for me

Should I switch out stock speakers,or get a sub?

Finances are extremely limited for me right now but I know that I want to improve the bass in my2006 Mazda Tribute. my dad suggested replacing the stock speakers with some nice ones and getting a new stereo. The bass I am looking for is enough to feel it inside the car relatively good. I dont care if anyone outside hears it or not. Should I replace the stereo and speakers, or should I go for an amp and a sub? I thinkI only will need one in a box. Suggestions and advice are appreciated. Again, I unfortunately dont have a lot of money to spend, as I am 18 and dont have a ton of money coming my way. I need to figure out the best way to get what I am looking for without spending enough to feed a 3rd world country. add: music I listen to is along the lines of Pitbull and Lil' Wayne. My mom has 5.1 Bose speakers in her 2008 GMC acadia that I really like, I want to TRY and get that, or close to that. Heavy bass in her car rattles my lungs ;)

I have a 1999 Ponitac Sunfire SE Coupe. Speaker size front are 4x6, and the back are 6x9. I have the stock speakers in them and the person who owened this car before I did blew these things out. Now I want to by some speakers but I dont really know much about what the watts mean, and what brand is good, whats not good, if I'm going to need an amp for all the watts. I dont plan on spending that much money, maybe $85 for front speakers on some pioneers. And $130 on some back Alpine speakers. Now can someone explain what wattage I need, if I need an amp, if its a good idea to mix the brand of the speakers or keep them the same brand. Adding More Volume To Car Door Speakers?

I currently have two pair of 6.5" Alpine SPS-17C2 (coaxial 2-way) door speakers in my car. There are 250 watts peak, 50 watts RMS each. I want to add more volume to them without changing the head-unit and was wondering if an amp can be used for adding the volume? One guy told me that an amp wouldn't do much for my speakers, but another guy and myself couldn't see why an amp wouldn't help. Anyway, if an amp can be used, what watt amp would you advise, so that I don't blow my speakers? Thanks!

Alright... So I got more money... I can spend around a grand on this, maybe a little bit more. I've picked out the stuff I want, did some research on the items, read a lot of reviews(Who knows the items better than the customer who buys it, right?) And anyway, here are the things I am thinking about buying, what do you guys think? 1. Sony 50w x4 in-dash CD Deck - $160 2. Alpine 500w class D mono MOSFET amp with adjustable crossover - $200 3. Alpine 12inch Dual-Voice-Coil4-ohm sub - $200 (I'm only buying one sub for now, and when I have more money saved up, I'll buy another one) 4. Fierce Audio 12inch Dual Sealed sub enclosure - $100 5. Alpine - Type-S 6"x9" 3-way coaxial car speakers with poly-mica cones - $120 And what money I have left over is going for the installation fee. Is this a decent set-up? I want to put some bass in my truck, and my buddy wants to sell me an amp and two 10" subwoofers. Obviously he'd sell it to me for much less than I could find it in stores. Problem is, I want them professionally installed. Imaging or staging car audio Component Speakers?

I want to replace the speakers in my 2006 Nissan Xterra with some nice component speakers, my question is staging or imaging. there is a tweeter on the dash and a speaker in the door, can i just replace those speakers and get the right imaging from the new components? or should i leave the tweeter on the dash alone, or cut them off, and just place the new tweeter near/next to the mid-range? the door speaker holds a 6x9 so i would fab a speaker adapter to hold the both mid and tweeter. I hope that i can just use the factory locations, so if you think the sound would sound just as good in the factory locations please let me know. i currently have a sub and amp for my car and am now upgrading the speakers i was thinking of putting some 6.5" splits in the front with the tweeters on the a-pillar.Now i also want some rear speakers as it is a medium sized car but have heard bad things about 6x9s that they upset the sound with too much bass and i want the best possible sound for all occupants should i go 4 a 6x9 coxial and if so how many way.Or should i get another pair of 6.5" coxials or splits for the back. if so should i go for some 4" speakers in the front and (sorry for all the questions) if i did get splits for the rear where would i mount the tweeters for the back thanx heaps for your help

Hi guys i am new to this form, as I came across this looking for some help. I have Sony MEX-BT3600U head unit installed in my car. But now im looking at upgradeing the speekers that its connected to as they are the original from a 1996 holden commodore, and im wanting to know if anyone has any recomndations as to what would be the best products to get for a good sound output. (something that will give me good bass) I am looking at getting all Sony speekers im looking at getting: XS-GTX 1620S - front & Tweeters Not sure what 6" to get for back any recomndations? Box 126P5 - sub and im not sure what amp to get any recomndations? and with the connection of speekers should I connect the speekers to the amp or run the speekers off the head unit. i need to know some things about speakers subs and amps i need to to know what ohms are, is 8 better than 4? what it would take to power up 1,000-2,000 watts if i would have to do anything to my alternator or battery? what is a good amp to use? Alpines or JL Audio 6" speakers?

Alright right now 2/4 the speakers in my car are now Alpine S types, 2X 6" with 2X 1" component tweeters. This is the rear side, the fronts got some alpines from the 1990s & I want to replace them with fresh ones, & make my entire system Alpines. I started on S Alpines since they dont need a amp, & to get R or X Alpines a car needs one. Im not going to own the car long enough for me to want to put all that equipment into it, & its a small 87 sentra coupe Today I got shown some JL Audio TRs, & was told their entire lineup beats Alpines. But Ive not heard much about JL, & always believed Alpine made speakers real good. Should I just finish my car with Alpine S types, or get JL Audios? I'm about to buy a new deck for my camaro, and am trying to find speakers and such, but i'm unsure as to what they mean when they're "3-way" or "2-way" speakers, etc. I'm a noob when it comes to car audio, and I'm picking it up as I go. I have an apline x305 for the deck, and I have Apline S speakers. The fronts are the S 600c component system with 2 way speakers, and the rears are just the S 609 3 way 6 x 9's. i believe it is, Last sunday i purchased two MB Quart 304s 1000 watts, they sound amazing! but within three hours (i popped my trunk at 5 o clock, they sounded awesome) and then at 8 o clock i put my friends backpack in the trunk, speakers going and i noticed the right speaker was rattling when it hit. The left one still sounds great, and u can't hear the rattle in the car (its very faint) from all the reviews i read i heard these speakers could hit very hard. I left all speaker EQ settings the same as they were set up. I had them professionally installed. In fact, i turned the EQ setting on bass down one notch. I have actually heard the speakers in someone elses trunk (different onces) and they were actually turned up louder than what i listened to, in fear they could blow. Its just very upsetting because i spent 900 dollars on these subs, including install, and its already going out? From what i have reserached, its a fried voice coil that is rattling. Again it doesn't rattle very loud at all but since it has happened i have turned my base down all the way so it doesn't get worse. If its anything like basic metal properties, if i turn it up to what i would normally listen to, it will heat up, then cooldown when its turned off..so i expect that it will only make things worse listening to them loud. Basically what im trying to get at is that they are professionally installed, which puts the subs under warranty, but i again also bought them last sunday and they shouldn't have gone out yet. I think i played them too hard too early without breaking them in maybe, if thats a possibility. I just, want to make sure this doesn't happen again when i send my sub in for a replacement

I would like to build a subwoofer with my son as a project. It has been years since I have built them, and I need some input. I have an amp that will produce 380W RMS bridged 4 ohm one channel. I don't want to pay any more than $100 since I will have further expenses with building materials. Will I need a capacitor for this system? i have a stock 2006 pontiac g6 base model... i have a midgrade walmart battery(since my 1st battery was drained), and a stock alternator... i have a aftermarket pioneer radio... and im looking at getting a system... im looking at 2 alpine type r 12's(4 ohms) and a hifonics brutus 1210 with 4 gauge wiring... i have a 3 farad power acoutsik cap that will be hooked up as well... my question is will the hifonics amp drain my battery... ive already replaced the battery once and dont want to kill it or the alternator... so will it or will it be fine...

Is it good to have a car subwoofer with a very wide frequency response?

Okay, so I'm looking at getting a couple car subwoofers. Now, The subs are about equal and cost and such, I would just like to know, which would sound better? Lets say that these two subwoofers are made out of the exact same thing, look the exact same, and have the exact same amount of power. Judging by frequency response, which is better for a subwoofer: Subwoofer A: Has a frequency range of 20-180Hz (20 on the low end, 180 on the high end) Subwoofer B: Has a frequency range of 18-500Hz (18 on the low end, 500 on the high end) It'd be great if someone could answer that simple question for me stated above, THANKS! Car Audio/Subwoofer Question?

I recently installed one 10" subwoofer into my standard cab 1999 Chevy S10. I purchased a Sony 1200w Sub with a slim truck series box, since I have very little room behind my seats. I bought a sony MP3 Deck as well. I installed an older model Rockford fosgate 500w amp that Ive had for about 10 years and used in several different cars. This is the first time I've used it to power a 10" as I've always used a larger 12" woofer. Install was clean and everything worked fine, however, after about 30 mins of use, the woofer starts to rattle very loudly, putting your finger on the cone stops the rattle, so I know its coming from the cone area and its not something in the truck. The sub is very warm to the touch. If you turn the system off and wait about 10 minutes the rattle/distortion is gone and starts to rattle after a few minutes of use. At first I thought I blew the sub but it seems to fix itself after cooling down. What can I do to solve this? Do I need a higher power sub? Thanks in advance. I ran over to my local car audio shop, they told me Sony makes good decks but their amps and Subwoofers are the worst in the industry. I upgraded to a Kicker competition series sub for $100 more and problem solved. Sounds twice as good too.

Please help with car Subwoofer system?

Okay so i've had my system for almost a year now. And it's worked fine. Then all of the sudden today it stopped working. it was working easlier but it stopped working. My amp wouldnt turn on therefor no power was going back there, but my capacitor would still turn on. The weird thing is my cd player wouldn't turn on neither. I checked fuse underhood and behind deck and they were fine. I'm stumped. Please help Thanks Mike You guys said it could be my head unit, but it's new and its 450 dollars and i really dont think thats it althought it has been gettin really hot latly if i fix it what i can i do about the hotness of the cd deck in the fugure. Good subwoofer for a car for a nice cheap price?

Hello, I am trying to find a good subwoofer for my car, I have purchased a 600 watt sony Xplod amplifier and four 4-way sony Xplod speakers and in all total i have about 780 watts to play with because of my stereo that gives me an extra 180 watts to play with, and I know that some subwoofers come with built-in amplifiers to help power them. So I have a few questions to ask: If a subwoofer comes with an amp already in it, and its max power would be like 500 amps but the amp already in the subwoofer is 100 watts, does that mean that it can only hold like 400 more watts? or is the 500 still up for grabs? I want a nice cheap subwoofer just to pick up the bass in my car, because my dad doesn't even want me to get a subwoofer, and he said if he lets me get one then it is only going to be an 8 inch or a 10 inch because he said if i get a sound violation then he is taking it and throwing it in the garbage. I have as follows: A 600 watt Sony Xplod Amplifier 4 4-way sony Xplod speakers A Vr3 stereo with a built in 180 watts. I just want enough bass for it to actually be noticeable in my car, but not sound like a drug dealers car or like those people who vibrate glasses off your counter when they driver by. Thank you in the top i mean 500 watts not amps, and my budjet is about 100 to 150 and i want the amp to be auto turn off and on I have a 2004 hyundai accent GT and already have my speakers installed and they are really really loud, and extremely clear, but when i turn up the bass when it is loud it gets all distorted, thats why i want a sub, to take over the bass so i won't hurt my speakers.

the p3-15w: http://www.poweracoustik.com/pa2006/product_AUDIO_wof_p3.html i cant find the mofo 15 but it costs around $220. The p3-15w is $109 which is perfect for my price range. If its as good as the mofo or almost as good, it will save me a lot of money. This will be used with a 4000 watt amp that pushes 1700 watts rms @ 2 ohms. but im confused. the sub has 2 2 ohm coils but it is rated at 4 ohms. it confuses me. Car Audio Help I need help finding the right subs for my car?

alright so the deal is i'm planing on adding some sub-woofers to my car. i found these 15" inch kicker subs Kicker Comp 07C154 15-Inch 4-Ohm Subwoofer there on Amazon. What kind of amp and box am i going to need to run this type of sub i plan on having 2 of them in my car. My other idea is putting 2 12" inch alpine subs Alpine Type-R Series SWR-1242D. Basically i'm asking for a comparison on which is better. Im looking for deep base with pretty good quality then again how big of a deal is sound quality with subs can you really notice? facts are great but then aging music is based on opinion i usually lisin to rap or hip/hop mabey you could take the time and give me your recimendations on what you would go i would like to keep this under $400 dollars thanks also i really dont under stand the ohms stuff or the 1 channel amps vs. the multi channel amps

installing a car stereo?

im tryin to put a stereo into my car but its not workin. the deck works fine and the amp and subs work like new. i hooked the power wire up, ground and remote but when its all hooked up the amp doesnt work. i had it workin once but the power kept cutting in and out. the amp will turn on and off. so i tried a different fuse and still didnt work. so i pulled the wire out and hooked it direct to the battery right close and it worked but if i string the wire thru the car it wont? whats wrong???? my ground is good and remote is good. the power wire works its fine but its just wen i wire it thru the car it doesnt wanna work.

Car Stereo amplifier does not work?

I got this amp from a friend for free, he told me that it may not work but he didn't know if it did, well i got everything hooked up, It doesn't work at all, but i dont see anything wrong with it, no sound comes out when subs are connected and the protect and the power light won't even come on but i dont see anything inside or out that can be causing this that I know of, I am usually pretty good with electronics, but everything outside is connected, and inside there are no burnt places, no cracks in the circut board, no bad capacitors or anything wrong, could there be a way to fix this problem??

I have been wanting to add a sub to my system for a while and this is what I ended up getting (all because I was able to find great deals on the internet) 12" Kicker 08S12L5 1200 watt sub 600rms 4ohm Power Acoustik BAMF2000/1D 600rms at 4ohms 2000 watt peak I also bought a ported sub enclosure made for the 12" L5 Here's my worry. I bought the 2000 watt amp because it was the only deal I could find that put out 600rms at 4ohms. Will I be jeapardizing the Sub since the amp peaks at 2000 watts and my sub is only 1200 watts? or will I probably be ok as long as I keep the gain lower than max? Your help is greatly appreciated!

I just bought a car today, and its stereo is weak and old. I want to put a whole new sound system in it. Like the stereo, radio, speakers, amp, and a sub woofer. Im just wondering if i have to get new of every one of those otherwise my speakers would blow out due to the amp. anyways, is there some sore of package that comes with all of those? Like at best buy or radio shaq? and do they install them into your car for you? I want to spend as little as possible..i dont have to have the best sound system in the world, I just want some boom, vibration, and nice sound.

I am looking at purchasing a Boss Audio BASS800 10-Inch Amplified Subwoofer. Is anyone familiar with these? I have a memphis 10" right now, but its a few years old and looking for something new. My main concern is, how is this installed in the car? Its akward shape, being round, I cannot visualize it in the car, and I cannot find any pics online of it installed to get an idea.
