factory car stereo comes on but no sound ?

I recently got a 1987 acura integra with factory stereo. The is a something under the passenger seat ( i am assuming its an amp) anyhow, the radio comes on (lights, i can change stations, am and fm as well.) There is no sound though. I see the little FM indicator light and it stays lit constantly so i know I have good reception. The only sound that I can hear is a slight pop if i turn the radio on and off repeatedly a few times, still no music though. Also the person i got the acura from says that they listened to some AM stations, but I cant hear any of those either. So any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Again I say that this is a FACTORY stereo and it has an equalizer and (assuming) an amp under the passenger seat.

02 wrx head unit is alpine subs are cheapo mtx that i have had for 8 years installed everything my self where do i start looking not sure but i think when it happened all my factory settings on the head unit went back to 0 (i.e. tre, bass, mid ) other speakers all work

Bmw w/ aftermarket jvc head and kicker 4'' and kicker 5.25" ?

Okay so heres the deal my setup worked but wasnt very loud and when up high bad qualitiy.Now Bmw's have factory amps which i was using..if i use the bmw harness just for power and illumination and run speaker wire to the speakers will this work or should i try to bypass the amp which is two 12 pin plug and plays but cutting them and soldering them accordingly? its a 92 bmw 325i ....Thanks Dan

Hey guys, i just bought a car, i replaced the front 4 inch speakers and the back 6x9 speakers. However i have another set of 4's and a set of 6's that i wanna put in. My head unit is 45x4 which is what the guy who owned the car before me had put in. My question is, do i need an amp to run the extra 4s and 6s?

I just bought a 2001 VW Jetta GLS off of a lady, she had a sony xplod deck put into it and I turned it on after i bought the car for some reason and the main 4 speakers are not putting out any sound, only the 4 little ones put out sound, i took it to best buy and the guy said the connection to the deck is all good? is there anything i should get cjecked, i need it fixed bad lol it sounds horrid!

Why won't my car stereo put out any sound?

i have a 2003 chevy impala, with the stock stereo. In the last couple months the stereo would randomly not put out any sound, it would show it being on, change radio stations, and say it was playing when i put in a cd, but i would get no sound. It would randomly come back on eventually. But the last few weeks the sound has been gone, and not come back. Would getting a new stereo fix this, or would i spend the money and still have no sound?

I have 2 pioneer ts-e6995 800w speakers that I want to put in my car. I cannot afford any amps right now. Pioneer DEH-P5800MP In-Dash CD/MP3/WMA/WAV Receiver problem ?

When I make a disk of music (MP3s and WMAs, usually) using a program like Windows Media Player, I can fit scores of songs on the disk. However, the unit will only play 20 or 30 of them. When I look at the folders the player is recognizing, some of them will have the songs in them, but most of them will show "no files found." If I put the disk in a computer, it confirms that all the files are there. There seems to be no consistent basis for the songs that are excluded--that is, it doesn't matter if they are in a particular format, or a different bit rate, or a file that has subfolders, or that kind of stuff. When I simply drag-and-drop files onto a disk, then close the session, I get a disk the player can't play at all (Error 23). How can I put 8 hours worth of music on a CD and get more than an hour and a half of music to play while I'm on the road?

Cd player or harness, loss of sound HELP ?

I have a clarion vrx485vd that I bought used but took me a while to install it b/c I have a mazda 6 and requires a special dash kit. Well I got it all installed and my driver side front speaker is playing very low. For instance if I play it at 10 the whole car is loud but inorder to hea that speaker I would have to turn the balance tot hat speaker and crank it to about 16-18 to hear low quality sound. Now I thought maybe it was because of my bose factory system, but that wasn't it b/c I put on the amp interface for the high low freq. So I replaced the speaker, that wasn't it. So I decided to rip it out and put it in my girlfriends jetta, with stock rasio ect and still the same problem. So is it worth me buying a new harness for 70.00 or would it just be a waste of money? Or is it something internal and I would prob have to send it to clarion? Please answer from someone with experience not just someone taking a guess.

hi, i am currently in possession of a pioneer AVH-P5750 in dash head unit and have been extremely happy with it since day one when i first bought it +/- 3 or 4 years ago. however, i would like to know if there is by any chance a way for me get it to play other formats like Mpeg4, Divx, and other media formats like that. currently i can only play the standard DVD and VCD formats on disks. is there perhaps an add on device that would allow me to be able to use a USB flash drive. i guess what im saying is, is there perhaps an aftermarket device such as the 1 offered by Grom Audio that allows your current headunit the functionality of being able to play mp3's from flash drive, but im my case it will allow me to play other media formats via flash drive? does such a device exist or am i asking for too much? i really do like my current head unit and would not like to replace it with 1 that has the functions i want already built in thanx in advance!

What deck and speakers to get?

Looking to upgrade my Tacoma stock sound. I have an infinity kappa perfect sub 12.1 and infinity 1300a amp already. I had a pioneer premier deck before that I was satisfied with and kappa speakers, which were a little too harsh/sharp on the high end for me. But I am looking for 4 speakers, 6.5'',(about 100 a pair or so) and a deck with ipod control(about 200 or so). I will not be running an amp to the speakers and wont be upgrading from this set up. Just want clarity and loudness out of the deck and speakers, the sub I already have is perfectly enough for me. I also don't need to get them at car toys, or any similar store, since I can install it all myself and ebay is much cheaper.

what i m asking u is ....power....and model no among those companies....and best match with particular with those speaker and sub ....i think i need the amp which can run in 2ohms load in bridge connection with those d4 sub....i remember only gm-x944 had that ....current models i could not find any one....suggest me......around 10000 rs........the other choise is D2 sub which runs in series and result 4ohms load on amp in bridge connection....for that i need 300 rms power in bridge......and for that i need amp which has over 1000 watt max output....now this is my question....suggest me amp with such power....

Amp cuts out Help !!! ?

I have a Pioneer head unit connected by way of RCA cables to a Pyramid 1200 watt peak amp which drives two 1200 watt peak 12 inch subs. Power is run direct to the amp from the battery using number 4 copper wire. I have a 1.5 farad capacitor. Problem is that at a power level greater than half the amp shuts off after a short while. Have to turn off hear unit to turn on amp. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance Dave

I have 2 oxygen power mid range 6X9's and 2 Oxygen power mid range 6.5's and i need a 4 channel amp for all 4 of them, the 6X9 have a 140 Rms and 6.5's have 130 rms. Make these realistic im not looking to spend a huge amount of money.
