what are car audio Tweeters?

hello, i was wondering car audio tweeters are. I have been looking around to purchase speakers, amps, and subwoofer for my truck but when i was researching i was getting alot of results on tweeters and not one website gave me a good explanation on what they are and how they could improve my system.

wantobang 		Tweeters are small speakers about 1 1/2 inch to 2 inches that produce the high pitched sounds of whatever your listening, it kinda sounds like tssstssstsss.

Isabella 		Tweeters are small speakers that best reproduce high frequency sound, much like woofers (or sub woofers) are large speakers that reproduce low frequency sound
