The EQ is powered. You can't use it in-line with the amp. You can use your stereos' rca outputs for both. Run one pair to the EQ which will power 2 small speakers and run another pair to the amp which will power your sub(s). Lightning Audio is manufactured by RockfordFosgate (yes, really) so it's pretty decent for a budget amp. Good Luck!

If you don't know how I would recommend going to a pro to have it done.... if done wrong it can result is very bad things happening. But if you really want to try it on your own I would suggest finding someone that knows something about it and having them walk you through it... Installing things like this for the first time isn't as easy as plugging in you coffee pot I am guessing you are new at this so I would suggest you also take a look at www.bcae1.com which is for car audio basics and teaches you some very good knowledge. Good luck

well... im my car audio system, i did not use an equalizer... i have the amp hooked up to the speakers dircetly... i have a power wire from the battery, a ground wire going to bare metal in the trunk, 2 sets of wires coming from the cd player - a remote wire and my rca cables..... now, when you have all of those hooked up and hidden, you connect the speaker wires to the box via the ports on the box.... and thats pretty much it... then, you can tune the amp with the knobs/dials on the side.... i just use the EQ on my CD player and amp...... hope that helps! -Matt

The problem with your system is the POWERED eq. Since is powered you can't connect it to the amp or it will damage it. Passive eq. are used in combination of amps but your's isn't. If you still want to use the eq. connect it to the front and rear speakers, and use the amp only to power your subs.
