.The jacks go into the input on an equalizer.=If you already have an amp with a built in crossover, and want to save money and make the stereo make sound to your like, use the equalizer on nothing but the speakers and leave the subs hooked up straight to the head unit. This will give you the option to adjust the boom in the back, and then always have room to ballance all the mid-bass and the highs on the eq. Since your cd3100 has 3 sets of jacks, one will be for the subwoofer. Use the other 2 for front and rear then complete the wiring from the equalizer to the wires that go to the appropriate speakers.(left front, left rear..etc.) The jacks for the sub already are "low pass" so there will be better bass in the line before you adjust it in the amp,if it does have adjustable crossover built in.
