how do i get thunderous bass from my car stereo system?

I have a Lanzar vibe 241 200rms per channel amp for bass with two 12" mtx speakers rated at 200rms per speaker in a sealed home made box but yet still i do not get the deep heavy bass i want. My system is made up of a pioneer am/fm tuner cd player, a pioneer equalizer with crossover and sub output and a lanzar crossover. My mids and tweeters are on a separate amp rated at 750 watts total..75rms per channel. The bass amp has a 1 furad capacitor on the power wire which is 8 guage. The power wire from the battery is 4 guage with a 120 amp fuse at the battery.

Even a small amount of damping material can have a profound effect on noise reduction. In a typical application, applying damping material to the doors of your vehicle can reduce road noise up to 6 dB! This is a huge reduction in noise. Complete coverage for an average vehicle can reduce road noise as much as 18 dB! You can apply damping material in patches (25-50% area coverage) to keep a specific panel from resonating, or you can apply it over an entire area (such as the floor, doors, or trunk) to create a sound barrier and thermal insulator. Installing damping material requires only a few basic tools: Razor knife or scissors, roller tool, rags, and a solvent-based cleaner (rubbing alcohol also works). Don't forget basic hand tools for the disassembly and reassembly of your vehicle. this will make your system sound clean.

first thing is first, get a better amp. the lanzar is one of the cheapest and crappiest amplifiers on the market. go with an american made product or a class d amp with at least 800 - + power rating RMS POWER rating on it and the brand does matter but not right now. your still in the begginer phase and will learn the tricks of the trade if you want to. don't blow the subs when you get the new amp but the subs may need replaced after long and upgraded to the higher models of mtx. i run one 15" 7500 sub and it's really a nice sub. sounds good and hits hard but other brands are good but this is just a starter for your system and don't take advice from all the kids on here that just want points and stuff, look at the ones with the experience. 6+ years installing and troubleshooting

There could be a number of things that could be contributing to this. THe box you built could be too small for the subwoofers (not enough airspace), your crossover could be set improperly, or, if your Lanzar has a low pass crossover built onto it, and you are using it AND the low pass filter on your crossover, you're likely sloping your frequencies too steep. If none of those are the culprit, upgrade to a 500 watt plus RMS output amplifier.
