hi it sounds like a ground problem.put your patch cords (RCA)cables a Way from the ground wires and hot wires. make sure they are good quality the more money the better.try turning the amp down a Little bite.make sure its a pre eq. not a powered eq. if it has a watt rating on it.it could burn up your amp.replace your spark plugs with non resistors.the auto store could help you with that. and last check all connections from battery to the amp. hope this helps.

Take it out!!!! An EQ is designed to take sound away to make it sound better. So you would be subtracting sound to fit your taste. That's not good. You want true sound, take it out.

Sparks while I agree about taking out the EQ I don't for those reasons. They are just to hard to set up properly for the average user. I challenge you to get a flat response on an RTA without an EQ, good luck. Besides if HE likes the way it sounds using the EQ, then by all means he should leave it in. His ears are the only judge that matters. :) To try and answer you question, does your EQ have any gain settings? If so try playing with those a bit. If not, look to at the grounding on it.

I agree that its probly a grounding problem move the rcas away from any power/ground cables if that doesnt help you may want to try a ground loop isolater can be found in just about any electronic store maybe even wal mart
