Which speakers or products should I buy to upgrade the stock speakers in a 2007 civic lx? details below?

My dad just purchased me a 2007 civic lx sedan. It's a nice little reliable car, but came with the stripped down audio package with only four cheap speakers. I do not need a system that is the best or has alot of base. I was hoping for suggestions of products/packages and places to go (best buy, circuit city, tweeter). I'm not looking to spend alot of money maybe 200-250, but just want a better sounding system and need it professionaly installed so my dad doesn't kill me. It is not clear which size speakers I should get and if I should leave the 4 stock speakers in there and just put two new ones. If anyone can put together a little package that is compatible with the car and I can have installed at one of those places that would be great. I don't want to upgrade the receiver stereo part because it already has mp3/cd/ipod input and doesn't look like it is supposed to be change. What about amps/subs? Even information on the layout of the speakers and which ones should be replaced Thanks Do I really need to upgrade the stereo receiver in the front. The one that comes with it has mp3/cd ipod connect and is designed to fit the look, unless you think it will upgrade the sound that much. My dad won't kill me if I have a simple upgrade done by professionals, I just can't start plugging wholes in the interior like one of the guys said

To begin withm, ask your dad if he is going to kill when you change the speakers and brake the door panels. If he says 'yes" then do not do or pretend to do next: Alpine speaker or Kenwood will be really good for high voices on the doors 4" ( two pairs). Put one on each door and one tweeter 5" up on the door handle (inside) passanger and driver side. ( you will have to make a little hole) I think you will have a really nice sound, Here is a nice website where you can find good deal and good speakers. www.onlinecarstereo.com Check it out and let me you how it goes.. ( if you still alive) ji ji ji ji!!

the first thing u must do is, ask your dad if u could up grade a Little about your sound system, if he will kill u dats a problem, if not, change first your car radio, second check your sound. if you don't like it, change speakers. try reasonable brand like, lighting audio, dub, audio band, and many more. the most important one don't make hole on Ur interior just to up grade the sound quality.

Crutchfield.com is a good idea. When you buy speakers from them, you get the plugs that go on the end of the speakers that will direct connect to the wires. You also get installation instructions at no additional charge. So if your dad trusts you to follow instructions, you should have no problem. My advice on when you install it.... take you time & if something isn't coming apart like it should - ask someone.... crutchfield also includes lifetime tech support If you want to expand much more than that - amp, subs, etc., you'll have to have a place like best buy install that. Reason being - at a minimum to install an amp, you have to run the main power wire from the trunk area to the battery.
