What is a Car Amplifier?

I am selling a cell phone for a car amp., what exactly is it, how does it work, and what does it do? Also, what must you have to make it work? Speakers? Wires? Also, about how much does a 1400 watt amp go for? Not sure what brand it is though.

Crosby 		amplifier,subs,wire,speakers,= and a deck you will need(and obviously a car). It would be nice to know the NAME BRAND so i can say how much it costs...
