Subwoofer no long plays ?
This is my story.
My wife drives a GMC Envoy and I bought her a modest stereo up grade. Just 1 12” woofer and 1 amp both located in the rear of the truck. For a long time it worked great but one day my wife filled up 2 5 gallon jugs of water, didn’t put the caps on tight enough and the whole back of the truck got flooded right where the amp and the box are located.
The woofer box stopped working but she still go sound from the pre amp in the Alpine head unit. I waited a couple of months for everything to dry out and then found the 80amp fuse between the woofer and the battery had blown. It’s located very close to the battery.
I thought this was going to be a simple fix but as it turns out after replacing the fuse the amp turns on, I’m getting 12v dc to the amp but no sound coming from the woofer except an occasional pop. I connected a couple of speakers I had laying around the house to the +/- terminals of the amp and both speakers started to smoke like hell. How do you test the RCA jacks or the
