Set up a nice loud car audio stereo system.?

I know about RMS, and good brands.. I want to know what is the recommended RMS for me? I don't need to be heard from a mile away. I just want something thats a little above average. I listen to a lot of hip hop music. (Jay-Z!) Does the receiver need to be a certain amount of watts to be compatible with the amp/speakers/subs? And mainly, how many subs should I get that will sound good? (but like I said, not crazy ridiculously loud!) Please understand I want it to kick, just not to the point where its too much and sounds trashy. So please, give me your opinion of what kind of stereo, amp, speakers & subs to get. Including quantity of each (2amps, or 2subs or w/e) I've done a lot of research I would really appreciate your help :D

here's a budget set up as you said avg: regular radio- all u care about is the signal but upgrade if u like to get MP3 player input component speakers at least 65W, decent tweeters. go 6.5" if u can rears- forget about 'em sub- 1 10" ported is loud. get a good quality sub, most of the main companies will do. amp- get an amp- 2 channels to components, bridge last two to the sub. this will sound loud, good and will not break teh bank assuming u did research you know how to shop for power, bridged power, quality amp, and read frequencies on speakers. remember the components for the front will be highs and mids, lows will be from the subs. feed them good power.

It all depends on budget... I've already dumped like 5G on mids/ highs, primary amp. I haven't even considered the second amp or sub yet. Alot of the "trash" I hear is because of ghetto rattle, might want to consider dampening while the panels are off.

Probably 700 watts rms at the most. For what you want 1 sub would be good in a proper enclosure. I would still get 2 amps. One to run the sub and the other for your mids and highs. They do make 5 channel amps you can run everything on. There are plenty of great brands out there just check the reviews on them maybe even vids on youtube to see them in action.
