Is it possible to get the car's statistics like gauges on an in dash monitor?

Like in the movie the fast and the furious and other movies how they have the car's vitals on a screen? I know obd 2 scanners can do it but is it possible to get that info displayed on a head unit? If so how?

rgcaraudio 		Yes, it's possible, but unless the HU is built to use sensors it ain't happening. You have succumbed to movie special effects that are totally unreal. But if I can make this, anything is possible - http://carstereoforum.net/showthread.php?t=679
