Is it possible to connect your MP3 Player to car stereo system?

I want to buy a new deck for my car but I want one that would allow me to connect my MP3 player to it. Which deck should I buy? I do not want to spend more than $150. Would the iPod-Ready Decks from BestBuy.com work with a iRiver MP3 Player? I don't want to use an FM transmitter because I heard the sound isn't great

there are several units that are available to plug in an ipod or mp3 player. another option, less expensive would to get an fm transmitter that can be plugged into your 12v powerpoint in the car, and then is connected to your mp3 player. then you get to select the station that will play the mp3 player. the advantage to this type is that you can move to a different vehicle without having to uninstall your car stereo.

most decks now are becoming ipod ready. as long as the deck has an auxiliary mode you can plug any type of mp3 player into. also dont get an fm transmitter most of the cheaper ones are worth a damn in my opinion. too much interference

there are AUX audio ports on the back of your deck, usually come in 2 set ( red and white ). you can get an adapter that convert your .35mm jack to stereo jack and connect them to the back of the deck. Then select AUX as source on your cd player, voila.. it should work, good luck.

I found the best thing since sliced bread...http://www.crutchfield.com/S-9oDEWuNVIo6/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?i=142FMMOD01 It's not wireless so there's no chance for interference. It basically adds an AUX port to ANY radio. It feeds your audio signal from a headphone jack ( or RCA cables) by FM modulation, directly into the antenna input on your radio bypassing the antenna when on, allowing the radio to work as normal when off. This IS the answer. Totally versatile.
