I am not too familiar with car audio, but the bass in my car went out. What should I replace?

The bass does not work, but I can still hear just fine, but it sounds weird since there is no bass. I am assuming I need to replace the speakers but I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas before I purchase anything. Also, since it is not working, do I replace all the speakers? Could it be the main head unit? A tweeter? I am totally clueless but I have absolutely no bass so I am thinking maybe something is wrong with the main head unit. How do I diagnose this. Thanks in advance.

lmcaraudio 		Most likely it is a blown speaker (bass or midrange), that's happened to me before. If that is the case you do not need to replace all of your speakers, just the one that is blown. Since you are still pretty new to this area I would say take your vehicle to an audio installation shop and have them test everything and do the replacements for you. If you're not careful while installing car stereo equipment you could actually make matters worse like damaging your head unit.

lmcaraudio 		did ya check the decks settings? is the bass settings off. play a farmilair song and listen to each speaker, check the fader and left and right setting on the deck, bass. if the speakers work they shold play the bass.

lmcaraudio 		You should replace the car with one that has bass.....or find some teenage kid in a wal-mart parking lot late at night and have him look at it. I'd say probably in your head unit lies the problem.
