It sounds like a great idea but pedestrians have gotten so used to hearing alarms that no one looks twice when one goes off. Because not only do they go off when someone touches them, they go off in thunder, when a train goes by, etc. I opened the door of an unlocked car once and the alarm went off. I was like "OMG, what did I do, someone turn it off!" It was totally random because we'd been in and out of the car all day (it was a detail at work)
