No, do not listen to that person. Visit : www.the12volt.com and look up your vehicles wiring schematics. If appears you arent to familiar with installing a new radio, but if you are or are willing to try, buy a new radio from www.crutchfield.com ... i reccomend that site because they can tell you if it will fit your vehicle, they send all vehicle wiring harness and adapters, and give detailed instructions on how to install everyone with the shipment. its pretty awesome. IF you do not want to do it yourself, goto a local bestbuy and talk to Car Intall Bay, they will tell you what radio can fit into your car, install it for you, and they are MECP certified.

search online for a wiring diagram for the radio in your car.... goto walmart and get the factory wiring harnes that goes in it, if your car has an anti theft system in it, you made to go to a car audio store and get the anti theft adapter and plug it into the factory wiring harness replacement plug.... then measure the space that your old radio came out of, but measure with the dash in place for an accurate measure..... get yourself a new stereo and it will come with instructions on how to intstall as well as labeled wires for your convienence..... i would suggest picking up a couple packs of splice wire connectors and a pair of wire crimpers while youre at walmart which your total will probly be about 20 bucks there.....the anti theft adaptor plug should you need it may be about 60 bucks or more depending on the car its really not that hard if you have a little ptients, YOU WOULD COME OUT CHEAPER DOING IT YOURSELF.
