Car stereo question about an equalizer?

I have recently bought a V3 stereo system and some sony xplod speakers, but when i turn up the volume about past 35, everything gets all distorted ad sounds nasty. I had my uncle who came over and was going to give me some subwoofers, because he thought my base was kicking too hard, but when he heard them all he said was that i needed an equalizer so the speakers all get the same power or something like that. Can someone please find me one? I have been looking and I do not see anyone that has one anywhere. Send me a link please, thanks. P.S. please keep the price within $40-$60. *the max volume is 60*

Sounds like the signal is being distored by the speakers. Small car speakers do not replicate bass sounds very well without being distored. Instead of an Equaliser, try a high pass filter, this will cut off the low frequencys to the speaker, wehre they will only produce sounds above typically 120hz. Anything lower would be done by the subwoofers.

The actual problem is this, bear with me because this is going to sound like I am being rude when I am only telling you the truth. Your stereo V3, there is a reason that they are sold at stores like Walmart. To put it straight forward, they suck, poor quaility, and even worse sound quaility. The other thing is that the speakers are less than no good. When you looking at car audio look away from sony. When dealing with audio sony needs to stop making car audio and concentrate on home audio. You will need a better stereo and better speakers. If you want to leave your stereo alone, then get better speakers. For speakers you will not need an amp at all, look into Alpine Type R's. Use this website, www.sonicelectronix.com They will have the lowest prices anywhere. Install those speakers and adjust your trebbile and bass on the stereo. You can also do that right now with the speakers that you have installed right now.
