Car stereo amp and subwoofers not working?

I installed a Rockford Fosgate Punch 500 and 2 12" MTX Roadthunder subwoofers and once i got it all wired through the car i connected the power at the battery and it didnt come on. My fuse is good and so are the amp and speakers. I have a solid ground connection in my trunk with a nut and washers for extra assurance. I had it all hooked up in a different car and it worked fine. I don't know what to look for next in order to make it work. Any comments or ideas will be greatly appreciated, Thanks. -Corey checked all wiring multiple times and still nothing, the fuse to the amp wiring looks good as well. it puzzles me because i had it hooked up in a grand marquis and it worked perfect, and all i did was perform a simple switch and it doesn't work? anymore suggestions or ideas could help. Thanks.

did you check the remote turn-on wire from the head unit to the amp? Other than that, I would still say bad grounding-- but I'm not a complete pro, so I'll let them figure it out.

Check the power wire with a test light (at the amp). If it is good, check the blue wire from the deck to the amp (switch) if it is good, hook the test light to the power wire and check the ground. Good luck

You didn't mention the remote wire. Do you have the blue remote wire hooked up to the amp. That is what actually switches it on. If so, get a test light and check to see that you are actually getting power to the amp and the remote wire connection.

The best way to troubleshoot is to take the part that doesn't power on and connect it closer to the power source. If you still don't get power, try to connect something else to the power source to make sure you're getting power. Eliminate the different parts until you find the problem.

First off I would recommend picking up a multimeter that can check voltage and resistance, but if you do not want to spend the money on a multimeter start with a trouble shooting light, you can pick this up at any auto parts store. In order of sequence: 1. Check from a good ground source on the vehicle to the + terminal on the amp. No power then between the battery and amp there is an open circuit. 2. Check on the amp the + and - terminals on the amp place your meter across both to see if you read 12 volts. if not step 3 3. Disconnect the - terminal on the amp, do a continuity or resistance check on the ground wire if you do not get zero ohms then you have a poor ground. 4. If both these checks turned our good. Turn the radio on and check from the remote terminal to the negative terminal you should read 12 volts. If nothing place a jumper between the positive and remote terminal the amp should power up. If this is the case your problem is in the remote wire. 5. if all these check go good check your input signal. the easiest way is to get a portable radio with a 1/8 stereo headphone jack to RCA adapter. Hook the sound source to the amp if you get sound the problem is in your RCA cable or radio source. I hope this helps, good luck.
