Car alarm didn't sound, why?

Last night someone busted out the rear window of my car. It is supposed to be a good alarm, but none of my neighbors heard it so I don't believe it went off. Shouldn't a broken rear window trigger it?

rgcaraudio 		if its equipped with the siren part or wired to the horn yes it should have set it off,but some of those only have voltage sensors on them,not all come equipped with the motion sensors so its possible it didn't go off because of that,some alarms just kill the cars ignition system and dis-able it from being stolen not all will sound a siren or a horn,make sure its equipped to do this,good luck.
