Can i use my factory audio head unit for car audio system?

I have a 96 accord cassette reciever and like to know if i can hook up amp and 1 10" sub without buying a new head unit?

you can have rca outputs installed for 40 dollars but i doubt thats worth it, mite as well buy a new head unit

It depends on what the new systen requires by way of hook ups and what the head unit has. If you are getting new speakers, might as well go for the full system and get a nicer head unit too.

yes, the sound quality will suck (why a cassette player, its 2008 time for a upgrade) all you need to do is hook up a "line output converter" to give your factory radio a set of RCA outputs to connect your amp to they cost about $20 from best buy and/or places like radio shack, here's one http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=721&i=142SLC4&tp=1276 you just connect it to your rear speaker wires and you are golden
