Can I connect my car amp to a DC 12V outlet?

I want to hook up my new car amplifier. Unfortunately, there's really no way to run a cable from the battery to the amp. Can I hook up the amp to the 12Volt DC outlet, and if so, how?

David88 		There is always a way to run your power wire. As far as hooking it up to something like a cigarette lighter, I wouldn't suggest doing that. 1) it's not the right size wire, and you will cause yourself some electrical issues 2) It's ran through your factory fuse box and will no doubt be underrated for you application.
